This event will be held at the NRO in Chantilly, Virginia on the 17th and 18th of June 2009. The theme will focus on collaboration and information sharing with an emphasis on innovation and mission-enabling applications that address challenges and opportunities across the National Security Enterprise.

The current rise in the use of Web 2.0 social media has spawned innovative and unorthodox approaches to meet the demands of today's global and highly mobile workforce. The data-driven web has morphed into a user-centric web, with increasingly empowered users who are accustomed to and demand self-service and highly customizable experiences.

In his memo "Transparency and Open Government," the President has directed that the Government must be transparent and collaborative in how it conducts its business and serves our country. Our current economic situation dictates bold measures in spite of shrinking budgets and increasing expectations. Open source and non-traditional players are encouraged to participate in this event along with our traditional industry partners by showcasing their innovative offerings.
